Our Students Achieve Outstanding Results

in 16th MODEL APEC Conference

The 16th MODEL APEC Regional Competition for Northern China was successfully held from August 23 to 27, 2025. More than 100 participants from over 30 universities took part in the event. Through internal selection, Beijing Jiaotong University sent seven students, including Tian Changsheng and Li Shiyan, to compete. After intense competition, all seven students won the First Prize in the Regional Competition and advanced to the National MODEL APEC Conference Finals.

The 16th National MODEL APEC Conference Finals was held in Beijing from September 19 to 21, 2025. Contestants from over 30 domestic and international universities engaged in discussions and negotiations on two key topics: green economy and sustainable development, and artificial intelligence and innovative development. After two days of rigorous competition, Li Shiyan from our University won the Second Prize, and Tian Changsheng won the Outstanding Delegate Award. The other five students were awarded the Excellence Award.

In recognition of our University's continuous efforts in cultivating MODEL APEC participants and deepening the development of globally competent talents, the Committee presented our University with an honorary plaque titled "2025 MODEL APEC International Talent Development Base".

The MODEL APEC Competition is one of the characteristic contest series at our University focused on developing global competence, underpinned by college English teaching. Currently, the competition has established a sound model supported by college English courses, guided by pre-competition coaching teams, and driven by the MODEL APEC Students Club, continuously contributing to the cultivation of globally competent talents.
