2022-05-30 Tangshan Research Institute of Beijing Jiaotong University Conducts Laboratory Electrical Safety Training. 

In order to further enhance the laboratory safety management standards, raise safety awareness among teachers and students, and foster a positive laboratory safety culture at the Tangshan Research Institute of Beijing Jiaotong University, the Institute’s Safety and Stability Office organized a laboratory electrical safety training session on the afternoon of May 26. The training was delivered by Liu Feng from the Office. A total of 28 faculty and students from laboratories affiliated with schools such as the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the School of Electrical Engineering, the School of Computer Science, and the School of Civil Engineering participated in the training. The training used case studies of accidents as a starting point. By integrating visuals with text and incorporating video clips, it introduced the fundamentals of electrical safety, listed common potential safety hazards in laboratory electricity use, explained methods and key points for electric shock first aid, and outlined approaches and precautions for electrical fire suppression, thereby providing comprehensive training on laboratory electrical safety. To consolidate the training outcomes, an assessment was conducted following the session, featuring diverse and comprehensive questions. All trainees completed the test diligently and achieved excellent results. Through this training, the participants unanimously indicated that they would pay greater attention to electrical safety in their daily experimental work, strengthen laboratory safety inspections, promptly eliminate potential electrical hazards, and thereby solidify the foundation for the safe development of laboratories at the Tangshan Research Institute of Beijing Jiaotong University.
