Vice Secretary of the University Party Committee and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection Guo Hai Visits Tangshan Research Institute for Guidance

On the afternoon of March 8, Guo Hai, Vice Secretary of the University Party Committee and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, led relevant colleagues from the Discipline Inspection Office and the Supervisory Office to Tangshan Research Institute for inspection and guidance, and met with Tangshan city leaders for discussions. Wang Dayong, Director of Tangshan Research Institute, and Dong Jingzhu, Vice Director, accompanied the visit.

Guo Hai’s delegation conducted on-site inspections of Siyuan Building B, the SciTech Innovation Park laboratories, student apartments, the cafeteria, Tianyou Hall, sports facilities, and campus landscapes. They engaged warmly with faculty and students, inquiring in detail about infrastructure, talent cultivation, construction of science and technology innovation platforms, and laboratory and research team relocation. The delegation also exchanged views with Institute officials on Party building and discipline inspection work.

Guo Hai affirmed the progress Tangshan Research Institute has made since its establishment. He encouraged the Institute to leverage Beijing Jiaotong University’s technological and talent advantages, utilize the campus’s complete infrastructure, optimize space efficiency, expand student enrollment, and accelerate laboratory relocation. He also emphasized that the leadership team should strengthen integrity, reinforce supervisory functions, implement the “dual responsibilities” system, and encouraged faculty and students to make greater contributions to the university’s “Double First-Class” construction.

Wang Dayong expressed gratitude for the consistent support of university leaders for the Institute’s work. He stated that the Institute would strictly implement the university’s 14th Five-Year Plan and the key projects for 2023, accelerate scientific research, industry–university–research integration, talent cultivation, and academic exchange, and work diligently to lay a solid foundation for building a distinctive, domestic first-class new research institution through university–local collaboration. He also reported on challenges and difficulties in the Institute’s development and requested continued support from the university.

Afterwards, Guo Hai’s delegation visited the Tangshan Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and held discussions with Guo Yongbo, Secretary of the Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and Director of the Supervisory Committee, and Cheng Meizhi, Standing Committee Member of the Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and Member of the Supervisory Committee.

Relevant personnel from the Institute Office, Human Resources Department, Science and Technology Development Department, Asset Management Department, Logistics Department, and Security Department participated in the visit.
