On the afternoon of April 12, the Tangshan Municipal Education Bureau and Tangshan Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology jointly hosted a robot product supply–demand matching event in the education sector. Dr. Li Zhenkun from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at Beijing Jiaotong

University participated and presented the project “Soft Robots Based on Novel Magnetically Controlled Intelligent Materials.” Relevant staff from the Science and Technology Development Department of Tangshan Research Institute also attended the event.

At the event, Li Zhenkun provided a detailed introduction to the project, including its background, team strengths, technical concept, and application prospects. He also demonstrated the equipment on site, leaving a strong impression on local personnel in Tangshan’s robotics industry regarding the project and Beijing Jiaotong University’s research capabilities in robotics, laying a solid foundation for further cooperation.

In recent years, Tangshan has vigorously developed the robotics industry, positioning it as an innovation pioneer for the transformation of old and new growth drivers and a new engine for regional economic growth. The city has established an industrial system focused on welding robots and system integration, special robots, and sensors, while continuously strengthening support in areas such as policy measures, financial subsidies, intellectual property protection, talent cultivation, and guarantee systems.

Tangshan Research Institute will take this education-sector robot product supply– demand matching event as an opportunity to further promote mutual understanding and strengthen communication among the government, enterprises, and research teams. The Institute aims to actively build a bridge for integration of government, industry, university, and research between university research teams and local governments and enterprises, contributing to the enhancement of the university’s research level, the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and the transformation and development of local industries.
