School of Languages and Communication Studies Convenes Departmental Annual Meeting to Chart Development Path

On January 9, 2025, the School of Languages and Communication Studies held its departmental annual work conference in Room 605, Xiyuan West Building. The meeting aimed to review and exchange work developments in 2024, plan key tasks for 2025, and unite efforts to advance the School's new initiatives. All members of the School's leadership team and heads of departments and offices attended the meeting, which was presided over by Party Secretary Sun Wenbo.

During the meeting, department and office heads reported on achievements in intelligent language course development, AIGC technology integration into teaching, practical teaching reforms, student ideological guidance, and multimedia production and communication services. Focusing on disciplinary adjustments, department leads conducted in-depth analysis of challenges and bottlenecks based on the School's disciplinary characteristics, and explored ways to better serve the University's Double First-Class University Initiative and talent development goals through collective wisdom.

Sun Wenbo delivered concluding remarks, fully acknowledging the work of all departments and offices over the past year while setting clear requirements for the School's positioning, disciplinary development direction, adjustment strategies, and talent cultivation objectives. Sun emphasized three key breakthroughs: first, strengthening ideological guidance and enhancing educational effectiveness around the fundamental task of fostering virtue and cultivating talent; second, advancing AI-assisted teaching applications and quality course development to better support the Double First-Class Initiative; third, deepening new program construction to cultivate industry-competitive talent meeting national social needs.

This annual work conference provided a platform for exchange among departments and offices, further consolidating direction for the School's future development. In the coming year, all faculty and students will forge ahead with innovation under the School's leadership, facing challenges directly to contribute to the School's new development milestones.
