2020-03-07 Good News: Findings from Uruguay Research Center Selected as Provincial and Ministerial-Level Reference Materials. 

On March 5, 2020, the applied research results of the Uruguay Research Center, titled “Research on the Modern History of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay” (consisting of four articles), were selected as reference materials for the leaders of the Latin American Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In order to serve the national strategy and diplomatic situation, and to contribute to the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, Beijing Jiaotong University actively responded to the Ministry of Education’s call for universities to carry out research on countries and regions. In December 2017, the university established the Beijing Jiaotong University Uruguay Research Center. Relying on the faculty resources of the School of Languages and Communication Studies, the center coordinates resources both inside and outside the university, focusing on research in areas such as Sino-Uruguayan relations, Uruguayan politics, economy, culture, and foreign relations, providing policy support to relevant government departments.
