On the afternoon of April 17, Ding Pengyu, Party Secretary of the School of Physical Science and Engineering, Tang Aiwei, Dean, Yao Kai, Vice Dean, and professor representatives visited Tangshan Research Institute to inspect the campus infrastructure and laboratory construction. They held a discussion on the relocation of laboratories and research teams, the joint construction of scientific innovation platforms, and industry–university–research cooperation. Wang Dayong, Director of Tangshan Research Institute, and Dong Jingzhu, Vice Director, attended the event. During the discussion, Party Secretary Ding Pengyu stated that the School of Physical Science and Engineering will actively respond to the university’s “one university, multiple campuses” policy. Through policy support and providing excellent services, the school will encourage laboratories to relocate and settle in, and hopes to carry out broad and in-depth cooperation with the Research Institute in areas including industry–university–research integration, scientific research, talent cultivation, academic exchanges, and popular science services. The goal is to implement concrete projects, integrate into the development of the Research Institute, achieve mutual benefit, and promote joint development.

Dean Tang Aiwei reported on the progress of cooperation projects since February this year, including joint graduate training, hosting high-level optical academic forums, building student internship and training bases, and promoting industry–university– research integration, as well as the implementation of laboratory relocation. He emphasized that the school will fully support the relocation and settlement of research teams.

Wang Dayong expressed gratitude for the guidance and encouragement from the delegation of the School of Physical Science and Engineering. He stated that the Research Institute will actively coordinate to meet the specific needs of the research teams and fully support the relocation, operation, and management of the School’s laboratory equipment and personnel at Tangshan. He hoped both sides would refine and implement the cooperation plan and timeline, take practical actions, and contribute to the high-quality development of the university.

Professor representatives from the School of Physical Science and Engineering conducted in-depth discussions with relevant Research Institute staff on laboratory classification, faculty appointments, personnel deployment, laboratory environment renovation, and laboratory allocation. They emphasized fully utilizing the Research Institute’s space efficiency for planning and layout, promoting relocation and settlement through the Key Laboratory of Luminescence and Optical Information Technology of the Ministry of Education, expanding development space, and making greater contributions to the university’s “Double First-Class” initiative. The delegation inspected Building B of Siyuan Building, laboratories in the Science and Innovation Park, and campus landscape facilities to understand the Research Institute’s infrastructure, scientific research, and teaching conditions. They focused on on-site research of the physical science and engineering laboratories in Building C of Siyuan Building, planning laboratory relocation procedures and allocation arrangements.

Relevant Research Institute staff participated in the event.
