On the afternoon of October 30th, the School of Language and Communication Studies held a study and exchange meeting on the theme of “remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind” in the High-Speed Railway Hall of Siyuan West Building. Teachers Du Yongping and Yan Changli from the school’ s supervision team, members of the college’ s Party and administrative leadership, cadres at or above the department level, secretaries of Party branches and heads of departments attended the meeting.

The first part of the meeting was a presentation of the research results of the theme education. Party Secretary Wang Hongying, Vice President Yang Ruodong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Gao Yongfeng, and Deputy Department-level Counselor Geng Meifang made speeches, respectively reporting on the research results and countermeasures regarding how to further promote the implementation and role of the college's Party and administrative joint meeting and Party committee system, the investigation and mobilization of undergraduate students’ learning engagement and measures to enhance it, how to combine talent cultivation with moral education to promote the implementation of “all-round education”, the characteristics of online behavior of post-2000s college students and how to actively respond to new challenges in ideological and political work. The atmosphere at the exchange meeting was lively.

The second part of the meeting was a special Party lesson given by Wang Hongying on the theme of “remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind”. Secretary Wang led everyone to review the important discussions on education and talent cultivation from president Xi. In light of the time position and task requirements of the college, he delivered a lecture from three aspects: strengthening the leadership team, enhancing timeliness, and emphasizing talent cultivation. He further stressed the college’ s mission and vision, and continued to deepen the “Four dimensions” construction of harmonious development led by the Party and the government. Development should have a height, people’s livelihood should have a breadth, implementation should have a depth, and culture should have a warmth. We call on all teachers to take it as their responsibility to cultivate virtue and nurture talents and serve the country through education, and become dream builders of the “Dream Team” for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation!
