2020-02-11 School of Languages and Communication Studies Conducts Online Themed Class Meeting.

In accordance with the directives from the municipal authorities and the university, the School of Languages and Communication Studies organized an online thematic class meeting centered on unity and resilience in overcoming difficulties. [Clarifying Requirements and Defining Themes] On February 9, the School issued directives to all class advisors, requiring them to educate students through online class meetings. The aim was to help students deeply understand the noble spirit of the Chinese nation in facing epidemics and disasterswhere “when one place is in difficulty, support comes from all sides”and to recognize the distinct advantages of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics in “mobilizing resources to accomplish major tasks”, thereby strengthening the “Four Confidences”. [Swift Response in Multiple Formats] All classes responded promptly, organizing class meetings through various online platforms. Some utilized TikTok Live, with class advisors appearing on camera to lead discussions; others employed QQ Group voice chats to bridge distances; while some leveraged WeChat for mutual encouragement through text and voice messages. In classes where half the students were abroad, everyone overcame time zone differences to rally together with calls of “Stay strong, China!” [Effective Guidance and Strengthened Unity] Class advisors conveyed care and support from the university and the School to students, identified their difficulties, enhanced academic and career guidance, reminded them to observe personal protection measures and refrain from returning to campus early, and encouraged them to stay confident and overcome the challenges together. Students openly shared their thoughts in response to the pandemic: “Winning this people’s war against the epidemic is our shared commitment. Whether at home or abroad, we are all striving in our own ways.” Those studying overseas also expressed their deep concern for the motherland: “Stay strong, China! We send our blessings and prayers from Spain!” (Contributed by the Party Committee of the School of Languages and Communication Studies)
