The meeting was attended by Sun Wenbo, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School; Liu Kai, Vice Dean; Lu Qiang, Director of the Student Affairs Office; and all faculty members of the Department.

At the meeting, Sun Wenbo conveyed the deployment and requirements for Beijing Jiaotong University's 2025 graduate employment work. He emphasized that faculty must deepen their understanding of the importance of graduate employment work, formulate reasonable employment promotion plans, make advance deployments, define tasks, and strengthen implementation. He called for in-depth analysis of the employment situation for graduates, improving the conversion rate of job resources, and taking multiple measures to ensure the orderly progress and practical effectiveness of graduate employment work.

Liu Kai introduced the School's relevant policies on graduate employment to the attendees. He proposed that student employment should serve as a key focus and practical guide in educational work, driving the development of teaching initiatives and reforms. He emphasized the need to establish a pragmatic approach to employment efforts, promote the sharing of employment information, and enhance university-industry collaboration. Additionally, he called for fully leveraging alumni resources, expanding platforms for student internships and practical training, and aligning talent cultivation with societal needs to effectively improve the employment conversion rate.

Lu Qiang briefed the participants on the employment outcomes of recent graduating classes. He highlighted the severe and pressing nature of the current employment landscape, emphasizing that faculty must attach great importance to ideological and political education within employment efforts. He urged teachers to stay informed about students' perspectives on employment, maintain close attention to their mental well-being, and strengthen emotional support and practical assistance. This approach aims to help students better understand the job market and build confidence in their employment prospects.

Dai Jiangwen, Chair of the Department of English, stated that all faculty members will participate in and follow through the entire process of student employment support. By coordinating the efforts of professional teachers, class advisors, and counselors, the Department aims to enhance the effectiveness of its employment initiatives. In the near term, the Department will prioritize employment guidance for graduating students, conducting one-on-one targeted interviews with all students to provide precise guidance and tailored measures, fully committed to achieving the goal of high-quality employment for its graduates.

The convening of this promotion meeting has further clarified the objectives and specific requirements for the 2025 graduate employment work. Moving forward, all faculty members of the Department of English will unite in their efforts to ensure the implementation of employment support for each graduate, safeguarding the career development paths of every student.
