Deputy Party Secretary Xu Anguo and Colleagues Visit School of Languages and Communication Studies for Research and Inspection

On the morning of November 20, 2019, Deputy Party Secretary of the University, Xu Anguo, along with Wang Deyu, Director of the Student Affairs Department, and Liu Yan, Director of the Graduate Affairs Department, visited the School of Languages and Communication Studies for a research and inspection. They listened to the School’ s work report and cordially extended their regards to frontline counselors. Members of the School’ s leadership team and all student affairs staff attended the meeting.

Wang Hongying, Secretary of the School’ s Party Committee, extended a warm welcome to Secretary Xu and his colleagues and provided an overview of the School’ s overall situation. Deputy Secretary Gao Yongfeng delivered a specialized report on the fundamental aspects, guiding principles, distinctive features, and support mechanisms of the School’ s student affairs work. Vice Dean Yang Ruodong exchanged views on topics such as integrated talent cultivation and the “three-wide education” model. Counselors present at the meeting shared their reflections and suggestions regarding the difficulties and challenges encountered in student affairs work. Throughout the presentations, Secretary Xu and his colleagues engaged in interactive discussions on specific aspects of the reports.

Secretary Xu fully affirmed the student affairs work of the School, particularly praising its distinctive and innovative approaches in areas such as all-staff education, international talent cultivation, and online ideological and political education. He also offered earnest expectations aligned with the disciplinary characteristics of languages and communication. Finally, Secretary Xu responded to issues of concern raised by the counselors and outlined ideas for further reforms.
