Tangshan Research Institute Holds Beijing Jiaotong University 2023 Overseas Universities Open Day and Pre-Departure Briefing of the China (Ministry of Education) Service Center for Study Abroad

To strengthen international exchange and cooperation, provide students with more opportunities to understand foreign universities, and assist them in study-abroad planning and pre-departure guidance, on the morning of April 23, Tangshan Research Institute held the Beijing Jiaotong University 2023 Overseas Universities Open Day and the Pre-Departure Briefing of the China (Ministry of Education) Service Center for Study Abroad in Zhixing Building. Liu Jing, SQA Project Leader of the China (Ministry of Education) Service Center for Study Abroad, Wang Dayong, Director of Tangshan Research Institute, Dong Jingzhu, Vice Director, representatives from 19 institutions in the UK, and nearly 200 students attended the event.

Liu Jing provided a brief introduction to the SQA project and offered targeted guidance, encouraging students to actively seize and cherish opportunities to study abroad. While focusing on their professional studies, students should also actively integrate into the social life of the host country, understand its economic and cultural characteristics, broaden their international knowledge, and comprehensively enhance their overall abilities.

Dong Jingzhu stated that universities shoulder the important mission of cultivating young students. Beijing Jiaotong University will continue to advance educational modernization, collaborate with all parties, uphold high-level openness to the outside world, expand cooperation channels, and build more interactive platforms between overseas universities and students, opening up new areas and tracks for collaboration.

Zhang Zhaoguang, a representative of the Class of 2020 Business Management program, spoke as an outstanding graduate, expressing gratitude to the university, teachers, and classmates, and shared his learning experiences, life insights, and experiences applying to overseas universities.

After the meeting, students visited the overseas universities’ exhibition area, communicating face-to-face with foreign institution representatives to gain detailed information on desired majors, admission requirements, and accommodation applications, clarifying their study intentions. The teachers patiently answered questions, helping students better understand studying and living abroad, providing professional and detailed guidance for their overseas study plans.

The China (Ministry of Education) Service Center for Study Abroad conducted a special session for students who had received admission letters, providing detailed explanations on study-abroad procedures and pre-departure preparations, with a focus on entry registration, safe study abroad, master’s applications, and the latest studyabroad policies.

This event not only gave students the opportunity to gain close contact with overseas universities, but also provided detailed university materials and authoritative study-abroad information, allowing them to gain a clearer understanding of studying abroad, further clarifying their next-stage learning goals, and providing strong support and guarantees for a smooth overseas study experience. Tangshan Research Institute will strictly implement relevant policies and regulations of the Ministry of Education and work with the China (Ministry of Education) Service Center for Study Abroad to promote the high-quality development of study-abroad programs, expand the supply of high-quality overseas educational resources, and provide multi-field, comprehensive, one-stop services for students studying abroad, creating platforms for their talents and pathways to serve the country.
