He emphasized that 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, and enrolling in this year, which holds special historical significance, adds a sense of mission to the era. He put forward four earnest expectations for freshmen: firstly, to maintain curiosity and exploratory desire for knowledge, and to extensively explore diverse fields; Secondly, they should bravely participate in innovative practices and translate theoretical knowledge into practical achievements in scientific research competitions; Thirdly, they should cultivate the spirit of teamwork and strengthen collective strength through mutual assistance and progress; Fourthly, they should abide by the code of integrity and uphold the bottom line of academic ethics with a self-disciplined attitude. At the same time, he guided freshmen to deeply reflect on the fundamental questions of "why they came to college, how they should spend their time here, and what kind of person they aim to become". He encouraged the freshmen to integrate their individual selves into the greater cause of "national prosperity, national rejuvenation, and people's happiness," explore and grow along their academic journey, and shine with the radiance of youth.

Teacher representative Zhang Jie proposed three suggestions to freshmen: Root inwardly and construct a rich spiritual world through extensive reading; Expand outwardly, actively engage in practice and cross-cultural communication; Maintain critical thinking, carefully discern information, and become a responsible knowledge creator. She also encouraged the freshmen to always maintain a desire for exploration and courage, dare to make mistakes, boldly practice, and grow into warm-hearted, insightful, and responsible communicators and narrators.

Han Ruiran, a representative of current students from the 2023 Spanish major, shared her experiences in club activities and volunteer service. She encouraged her peers to maintain their own pace of progress, persevere in their efforts, and become capable individuals who possess knowledge, are enthusiastic about serving others, and have the courage to explore the world.

Lan Zifang, an alumni representative and a 2018 graduate of the English Department, combined his own experiences to urge new students to be brave enough to break through their self-imposed limitations and discover their potential through diverse experiences; proactively build bridges of communication with teachers and peers, broadening their cognitive horizons through the exchange of ideas, and making their university years a fertile ground for self-exploration and dream fulfillment.

Li Yuhan, a representative of undergraduate freshmen, shared her plans for exploring and growing during her college years, drawing on her military training experience and her initial impressions of Beijing Jiaotong University. She stated that she would continuously refine her language communication skills, embody the school motto of "Learn and Practice" over the next four years, and grow into a young person with Chinese sentiment and a global perspective.

Zou Qiaoyi, a representative of new graduate students, shared her experience as a volunteer teacher and outlined her plans for graduate school, inspiring her classmates to embrace the new academic journey with greater resilience, unwavering beliefs, and profound thinking, cherish every day at Beijing Jiaotong University, and make the most of their youth.
