In the spring semester of 2021, Beijing Jiaotong University undertook the first batch of "Online International Chinese Teacher Scholarship Project" of China-foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation Center. On the morning of July 14th, the College of International Education held a unique online graduation ceremony for 17 project students.

As the first batch of students of "Online International Chinese Teacher Scholarship Project", everyone worked hard to overcome various difficulties and completed the 20-week study task, and eventually passed the final exam with ideal results.

Teachers praised the students' hard work and the rapid progress of their Chinese proficiency, and welcomed them to China and Beijing Jiaotong University after the COVID-19 epidemic ended.

The outstanding students who were commended at the graduation ceremony delivered their acceptance speeches. For instance, Vietnamese classmate Wu Qionge said, "Four months is not a long time, but we gained a lot of valuable knowledge at Beijing Jiaotong University. Various Chinese classes, cultural classes, and weekly tutoring classes have greatly improved our spoken Chinese ". "In addition to learning Chinese, we also took part in extracurricular activities, such as speech contest, and we also enhanced the friendship during the practice with tutors."  

We also set up a We also set up a Chinese teaching practice platform with Tangshan University, aiming at supplementing the online course and creating an immersive Chinese learning environment for students. Specifically, students majoring in Chinese international education in Tangshan University participated in online teaching as teaching assistants, and regularly tutored Chinese for international students.

Finally, the person in charge of the project said:“ I hope students can share the memories of this wonderful four-month online study with their families and friends. We will also sum up our experience and continue to run the "Online International Chinese Teacher Scholarship Program" to provide learning opportunities for more foreign students who love Chinese”.
