Dr jaafar caral Ahmed, Sudan's ambassador to China since July 2020, is the 12th Sudan's ambassador to China. He is a scholar-type diplomat, a doctor of international relations at Nanjing University and a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of History of Peking University. He is currently an adjunct professor at the Middle East Institute of Shanghai International Studies University, a member of the Institute of Arab Islamic Culture in Peking University, and a visiting professor at the Institute of Nationalities of Nanjing University. He is also a member of the Sudan Studies Center (Khartoum) and a senior expert in Asian affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar. He used to be the Minister Counsellor in charge of China affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sudan.
