School of Languages and Communication Studies Holds Discussion and Exchange with School of Foreign Languages, North China Electric Power University (Beijing). On May 26, 2023, Liu Hui, vice dean of the School of Foreign Languages at North China Electric Power University (Beijing), visited the School of Languages and Communication Studies of Beijing Jiaotong University. Hao Yunhui, vice dean of the School, Huang Wenhong, deputy director of the Department of English, Ding Yan, deputy director of the College English Teaching Department, and representatives from the School of Foreign Languages of North China Electric Power University conducted in-depth exchanges. On behalf of the School of Languages and Communication Studies, Hao Yunhui extended a sincere welcome to the visiting delegation and introduced the school’s basic overview and disciplinary characteristics. During the discussion, the two sides had in-depth exchanges on issues such as how to carry out organized scientific research, how to stimulate teachers’ research motivation, and how to form research teams. Meanwhile, they shared their respective practices and experiences regarding college English credit design, curriculum systems, the construction of characteristic ESP (English for Specific Purposes) courses, and international exchanges. As both are industry-specific universities, Beijing Jiaotong University and North China Electric Power University share many commonalities in talent training orientation and the development environment of foreign language disciplines. This exchange has further enhanced mutual understanding between the two Schools and laid a solid foundation for future in-depth exchanges and cooperation.
