Online Exchange Seminar with the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of Lancaster University, UK

On September 7, 2021, at the invitation of our school,experts from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of Lancaster University  and the heads of various disciplines in our school held an online seminar. The two sides had an in-depth discussion on teacher-student exchange, student training, joint research and other areas. Professor Zeng Jinghan, Director of China Affairs of the Confucius Institute at Lancaster University, Professor Patrick Rebuschat, Director of International Cooperation of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Dr. Oksana Afitska, Head of International Affairs of the Department of Languages and English, Dr. Derek Hird, Head of the Department of Languages and Cultures, Foreign Associate Dean of the Confucius Institute, Head of International Affairs of the Department of Languages and Cultures, Dr. Yang Hu, Head of International Affairs of the Department of Sociology, and Colette Webb, Head of the Confucius Institute, participated in the online seminar.

 

The launching ceremony and seminar of One Famous City, One Book -- Awakening and Dissemination of Local Traditional Culture was held successfully in the School of Language and Communication Studies.

On July 15, 2021, The launching ceremony and seminar of One Famous City, One Book -- Awakening and Dissemination of Local Traditional Culture was held successfully.Geng Jiyong, Dean of The School of Language and Communication Studies of Beijing Jiaotong University, Professor Lu Mingyu, Zhang Haiyan, Pang Yuhou, Yin Jing, Yang Lei and Fu Tianying who are representatives of the project expert committee, and Zhang Haijun Chairman of Book and City Culture Development (Shandong) Co., LTD., Zhao Huaibao, Chairman of Shandong Aiyue Education Technology Co., LTD., and Zhou Bing, General manager of Shandong Aiyue Education Technology Co., LTD., attended the project launching ceremony and seminar.

 

Discipline Development and National and Regional Studies in the Context of transportation Power: Concepts and Methods and the third Beijing Jiaotong University High-end Forum on Discipline Development was successfully held

On October 17, 2020, “Discipline Development and National and Regional Studies in the Context of transportation Power: Concepts and Methods and the third Beijing Jiaotong University High-end Forum on Discipline Development”hosted by the School of Language and Communication Studies and the Center for Uruguayan Studies of Beijing Jiaotong University was successfully held. The forum aims to explore how foreign language and communication disciplines can interact with national and regional studies, and construct a cross-language, cross-country and cross-field pattern of talent cultivation and discipline development under the background of the construction of transportation power and new liberal arts.
